The cold, dark winter months can be tough on us, and it can be tough for décor as well. What do you do in January when your holiday decorations come down and everything feels a bit empty and grey? Inspired by the 2023 Pantone Colour of the Year, Viva Magenta, we have a simple solution: incorporate a splash of colour!

If you’ve already got your room started, add smaller pops of colour with accent chairs, pillows, or area rugs that complement the bigger pieces and one another. And don’t forget the walls! Consider creating an accent wall with a strong colour, or tie into colours on your furniture with complementary artwork.
If Viva Magenta isn’t your taste, that shouldn’t stop you from looking to reinspire your space by introducing different colour. What about a tone from the blue or green family? Or a punchy yellow or orange to liven up a neutral room? You can even stay in Viva Magenta’s palette but soften it up to a light, blush pink. If any of these colours aren’t creating a spark, consider bringing natural tones into your room through wood, leather, gold, copper, glass or plants to help get away from the grey.
