Canadel at Tepperman's

Canadel is a Canadian family-owned dining furniture company, founded in 1982 and based in Quebec, Canada. Rather than choosing a fixed set off the floor, Canadel furniture is custom-built to order: hand-assembled and hand-finished from solid wood, using environmentally conscious manufacturing practices, and built to be heirloom-quality dining furniture meant to last for years. At Tepperman's, Canadel is currently available in the Gourmet and East Side collections.

Built around choice

The biggest reason customers choose Canadel is control over the details. Rather than picking a fixed table and chair set, Tepperman's current Canadel custom order program includes over 66 fabrics, 20 finish colours and 12 chair styles, along with your choice of table size and shape. Canadel's UDesign tool lets you preview your combination before you order, and on select pieces, Canadel's Signature program can even adjust table dimensions to fit your space. Visit a Tepperman's showroom or use UDesign to put your configuration together, and a sales associate can help place your order.

The Gourmet and East Side collections

Gourmet is Canadel's broad, affordable custom dining collection, spanning traditional through contemporary looks, and it works well in country, traditional and modern homes alike. East Side is a more casual, functional collection, suited to both urban and country settings. Both collections share the same made-to-order approach, so the look changes more than the process.

Canadel dining furniture types

Canadel's dining program spans dining tables, dining chairs and benches, stools, buffets and servers, and kitchen islands. Because each piece is configured to order, exact availability can vary; a Tepperman's showroom or sales associate can walk you through what's currently offered in the Gourmet and East Side collections.

Choosing dining furniture that fits your space

• Measure your dining room, including clearance for chairs to pull out and for people to walk around the table comfortably.
• Count how many seats you need most often, and consider whether an extendable or custom-sized table would help.
• With Canadel, decide on your table size and shape and wood finish and colour first, then match chairs, a bench or a server to complete the look.
• Consider tabletop material and finish alongside your existing flooring and cabinetry, since dining furniture tends to stay in place for years.
